Tein assembly problem. Urgent help needed!
I have some Tein HAs that I'm trying to put on my car, but I can't figure out how to assemble them. I guess I'm getting the order wrong or something, but when I try to mount them to the car, the strut/piston moves up and down withe every bump, clanging around. It's like the only thing holding up the car is the spring and the shock is doing nothing. Anyone know what's wrong? I can't figure out and I've been trying and trying.
Sup bro... sounds like you forgot to put the washer to block the piston from travelin to far... their should be some sort of washer to put in so that once everything fully extends, the piston can't go through.
Hey man. Which one is it? What I did was put the bumpstop, bushing, rubber ring/mount, collar, bushing again, washer, and nut in that order. Was that wrong? I followed the pictures and it looks perfect but hell it's in Japanese.... Where should I be putting the washer?
Yeah, I remember you, but I don't have your number lol. Yeah I got the problem fixed to the best of my knowledge. What happened is I need new upper mounts. I didn't know the collar and bushings were pressed into the upper mounts but mine are shot which is why they let the strut travel freely. I ended up putting the aluminum top hats from my Ground Controls, the ones that help center the spring, in first, that kept the strut from traveling past the upper mount. Thanks.
I'm gonna go outside and finish the rest off now, I've the the rear right one on, and the front left. I better finish the rest today. I've been working at night the past couple days so it takes me forever. Thanks for the help though

i did the exact same thing yesterday...man i was pissed, i realized that you had to put that stock washer what buddy said to stop the piston from moving up to much...they should stress that in the instructions...i bet alot of people have done this...my stock shocks had that main washer and one other one, i put both of them on, i don't know if it's bad to do that or anything, but i did it anyways, still haven't tested them out on the road yet!
