Default Tech Question 99 Ody Brake Short

Sorry if this isnt the place for this post but I didnt find an odyssey forum.... I drove my 99 odyssey through a large puddle and later started it and found that it wouldnt shift out of park. I checked the book and replaced the fuse under hood and step'd on the brake pedal, heard the click, grab'd the shifter and it was locked. So I check the fuse and it was blown again. So I went to honda and got a new switch to go on the brake pedal and replaced the switch... Same problem. Now I'm not sure what to do... There was NO mist/moisture in the brake light lenses that I could tell... I replaced all bulbs and Nothing! Any help would be more than great!

Well if it isn't the switch then... Might be the solenoid/release mechanism on the shifter. Start tearing it apart and see what is on the other end of the switch.

Just a guess but that is where I would go next.
