Default for tech heads, is my clutch gone?

well i originally made a post about how i thought my axle/tranny was bad but on further investigation mackymcg and myself noticed a stange noise coming from the clutch area of the tranny like a metal on metal clanking.
here is a sound file, sorry about the quality, but this used to be a 34263k avi file that my friend reencoded

How old is the clutch? How many miles? Does it engauge properly? Sounds like a bolt is loose in there and its getiing banged around. You can remove the dust shild and see if there is any froeign object inside. Its hard to tell what the problem is though.

Hummmm... Sounds like something is banging around in there. Did you install the clutch? Torque all the bolts in the propper sequence? I'd pull the dust shield and crank it up again and see if you can maybe pin point the odd noise. I hope its nothing major.
