TB- to taper or not to taper???
whats the deal with a tapered throttle body? does anyone have any dyno tests or other info on why those mite be better than ones that are not tapered?
if the inside opening is 68 or 70mm, what does it matter that the outside near the intake is 2mm larger?
any info would be appriciated

I think the tapered throttle body is better by theory. While it may not make a diff. on your car, theoretically you get the air to make a smooth transition from a larger opening to a smaller one. When the air gets to the throttle body it doesn't just hit a "lip" which could cause turbulence. Is it really gonna make a difference? In a sport like drag racing where every .005 seconds counts YES. In a road race situtation where that variable is non-existent due to other factor which dwarf that small detail NO. The gain will be from increasing the diameter. How about $$ wise and ease of install... the other factors... what about those little inlets that come out of the bottom? WTF are those for anyhow
