tapping in rear main seal
Service manual recommends a special tool to install it, I was wondering if a rubber mallet would work?
TIA

Re: tapping in rear main seal (Jesse H)
A rubber mallet will do just fine. It takes a real idiot to ruin a rear main seal when pressing it in.

Re: tapping in rear main seal (CivicEK.PDX)
get a seal puller or a small pin punch and a hammer and punch a hole in the metal part of the seal and pry it out.

Re: tapping in rear main seal (hondafrk)
make sure you install it all the way otherwise it will rub the flywheel and tear
and a leaky rear mail seal sucks...

I removed it w/the housing that the seal sits in, that way you can just tug on it with a good pair of pliars.
