taking head off block... is it hard...?
Get a big ratchet or breaker barand a piece of steel pipe a couple of feet long. Insert the handle of the ratchet/breaker bar into the pipe. and loosen the head bolts holding the end of the pipe. Remember that the longer the handle, the more torque you have and the easier it is to remove pain in the rear bolts like head bolts. Have fun.
if ytou dont have access to air tools you will need to secure the engine stand or you will be walking it all over the shop. Also, get instructions to be sure there isnt a removal order to safeguard aginst warpage..

yeah, don't just take a impact to them.....then you'll leave only one bolt torqued down causing the head to warp most likely.
Spin the ratchet/breaker bar towards yourself and brace the stand against your body....this will support the engine and keep it from moving.
