Synchro Replacement?
Just pulled apart a 99 Civic SI hydro tranny due to hard shifting and not allowing to get into gear once motor is runnig. Shifted into gear when the motor was not running though. I checked the synchros and all of them look good. No missing teeth or worn teeth. What else should I check for to see if the synchros are bad? I'll also be replacing the clutch. Any input on figuring out why the tranny shifted hard and sometimes got locked out of all gears would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
It doesn't sound like you have bad trans...
Sounds like you have bad clutch (e.g. broken pressure plate spring, clutch disc spring hanging up) or something else in clutch disc assembly causing clutch to not fully disengage.

I took the clutch off and replaced with a stage 2. The old clutch plate was starting to bend and split the metal around the springs. Also the pressure plate had metal pieces loose inside of it. They looked like the fingers that were inside of the pressure plate. Should of solved my problem. Thanks.
