Default Swapping Heads- Do I need new head bolts?

I am going to swap out my stock head for a ported and polished head on my D15A3. Do I need to order new head bolts or can I resue the old one?

Many thanks for the info.

Scott

you 100% definatly need a new head gasket however the head bolts can be ruesed... i would only reuse them once though and then replace them with oem or aftermarket studs will do.

I reused head bolts. Put them back in the same hole they came from with a few drops of light weight oil. Clean the hole first with a rifle bore cleaner on a drill and then blow out the hole with compressed air. Also clean the threads on the bolts really well with a wire wheel. Good luck.

It is always best to get new head bolts, if not the dangers of blowing your new head gasket are greatly increased, and like civicmatt suggested ALWAYS coat the threads of the new bolts before installing them. This is so that you can get the correct torque. If you don't use oil then the torque wrench will give a false reading because of friction. Good Luck!

I would get the bolts, you want to do the job right, do it right the first time so you wont have problems. Also sometimes the threads on those? they stretch even though you dont see it well, they do; thats due to torqeing of the head.
