Swap Questions/problems
Ok, the jdm b16a started.
didnt run well but it started muhaha
anyway i got a couple questions.
the car has a VERY irratic idle. what could cause this (note there is no o2 sensor installed right now)
there are a bunch of sensors on my stock intake manifold that dont have any place to do on the jdm motor (MAP sensor, etc) what should i do with them?
btw THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR THEIR HELP!
ill crack a cold one for you all tommrow when it starts to run smooth.

The 02 sensor shouldn't matter right when you start the car cuz the PCM is operating in open loop until the car warms up. Is the MAP sensor wired in? I did my friends swap a JDM B16a into a 93 hatch. The first time i started it it ran like **** too. I used the stock DX map sensor with a hose connecting it to the port on the throttle body and i figured that should have worked fine, it did except for the MAP sensor was like stuck or something so the motor was running hella lean. I switched the MAP sensor and it ran a lot better. I tried to figure out what was wrong with the stock one so i started banging it around and then plugged it back in so that i could have my back up one back, it worked. If the idle is goin up and down check the coolant levels, TPS, and IACV. As for all the other sensor ports i just left the small ones open and covered the bigger ones. There was also a little thing on the old throttle body, it like pulls on the throttle pulley when there is a vacuum, anyways i just took that thing off. Doesn't seem to make a difference. Hope you figure that **** out!
thanks for the reply ill try that, the majority of the problem is the IACV, its probably stuck open/closed. the engine hasnt been used in MONTHS. ill work on all that today.
thanks
thanks
