suspension question....
i just installed a set of KYB AGX shocks and SKUNK2 coilovers on my EG.
i set the shocks on 3 and lowered the car 3inches. but its kinda stiff... if i go lower than 3 on shocks then its not as stiff but it bounces a hell of a lot more.
is anyone else running the same set-up? what did you set your shocks at for street driving? i want the most comfortable sut-up for street with this suspension.
any ideas anyone? i just think i said byebye to comfort when i bought the SKUNK's.
what do you guys think?

i always wondered what the bump stops purpouse was, can some one explain it? im guessing it stops from bumping some thing. thanks
If you lower you're car, cutting the bump stops relieves more ride, rather than your car riding on the bump stops.

i didn't cut them.... i was thinking about it, asked around if i should but all i got is negative answers. i did cut them on my old car. i think i should do that then, but i just don't feel like taking everything apart again
well, i should just leave it the way it is and save up for some TEIN's...
thanks

were these people who gave you negative answers reputable?
.. or just friends that don't even work on their own cars?
cool...good luck on whatever you do.

thanx catman.
hey i have another question for you...
i bought a JDM climate control unit for my EG. but i don't know how to hook it up.
i don't really need A/C, but i'd be happy if i get some air and amber lighting, since i got everything else hooked-up (JDM SiR cluster, clock...).
any suggestions?
also, what do you think about following set-up on my EG:
-audi pearl white paint (painted inside and engine bay as well)
-black interior
-totally gutted (except for dash and door panels)
-two red/black sparco torino's in front
-JDM cluster, steering wheel, clock, climate control, ITR CD player, ITR shift ****
-spoon c/f wing
-OEM front lip (no $$ for spoon)
-JDM headlights, corner lights (waiting for vision's), side-markers,
-C/F hood
-skunk2 coilovers/KYB shocks
-vision front tower bar
-JDM rear glass (with stickers)
next mods:
-B18Cturbo
-ES oval muffler
-regamaster evo gunmetal wheels
-spoon front lip
-vision corners
-JDM tail-lights
almost done

ahem..
well as far as the EG climate control unit goes...
The most logical-easiest thing to do is swap the face plates if you reeeeally want the dumb EG climate icons. Other than that, it will NOT plug & play into your US civic, theres no way because its a 100% electronic climate control unit. All of the US 92-95 civic climate units are 50% electronic and 50% cable-lever operated.
.....I have limited comments on your car scheme, the biggest one of all is...
DON'T POST UP YOUR FUTURE CAR PLANS ON THE INTERNET!!!!!!!!
For security purposes
.
other than that, yer setup sounds good, but it's just another jdm clone or variant of. The real question is, are you going to actually race your car with all of those race goods on there? and I don't mean illegal drag racing.

in regards to the original question...
i would first of all raise the car up a little bit. Does it really need to be that slammed for daily use? Thats the advantage of the coilover setup--adjustability--use it. Second, cut youre bumpstops as katman said. Once you do those things you should be able to set the shocks softer without as much bounciness. Thats not a bad suspension setup, i wouldn't ditch it just yet until youve tried all the various settings you have.
Good luck with your car, BTW.

I didn't catch what you are using for springs? After all, it's the springs that determine most of the ride comfort.... the shocks just control the motion of the springs...
EG6JDMspec,
I did a lot of research on the AGX's (vs. Koni's) and from what I've heard you might want to start saving for new shocks soon.
I talked to a mechanic that said he's seen them blow out with the stock suspension after 3,000 miles frequently and even at 1,000 miles once. To be fair though they've changed the design since then though...but from what I've heard recently most people blow them out when they're lowered more than 1.5" and KYB won't warranty them if they're lowered more than that at all. I hope you have better luck though.
