Idles ~ 9 with it pluged.
Ill probably pick up a new one at Honda, they quoted 140.
See if that fixes it.

OK, it idles smoothly at 900rpm?

please confirm. that's great news!!!

new is best, cause it is the wax pellet that causes the problem gets old and less effective --> the idle problems when it doesn't close properly...

cool,

with that lower port plugged and the idle screw all the way in and the IACV unplugged your idle should be very low or stalling- what do you get?

Ill tel you as soon as I get the idle screw replaced...

What can I say to someone at homedepot.
The guys at Honda said they dont sell it seperatly and I would have to find something else.

the lazy tossers!

you NEED a genuine honda idle screw - goto a wrecker or junk yard(whatever you guys call 'em) and see if you can pilfer one from them...

you may need to buy a damaged/trashed throttle body just for the screw...

good luck, you'll get there soon.

Aright, finally after calling Honda 3 times I got pices going 130, 172, and 67.
Luckily when I drove up it turned out to be the 67.
Also when I was there they decided they did have the idle screw at 6$
So in a coupel days when it comes in well see if its good.
Thanks for all the help.

just to give you guys an update i tried installing two more different IAC's and it still does it...
i am now considering taking it to honda and paying the $70 diagnostic fee and then fixing it myself.

Heres a little gem I read every month....don't know if anyone else reads this site:

http://motor.com/

Your gonna want to go to the "Back Issues" section. From there, go to "April 2000". In this edition, there is a column called "Foreign Service" which details an article about the FITV - Fast Idle Thermo Valve.

Theres also a lot of other good info pertaining to general car repair....maybe you guys might find the info useful...I do.

Lemme get this straight....you were using a part that wasn't for your car? I'm glad you fixed the problem...but the next time you come back asking for help...I know the first Q I'm asking you.

here's the thing...my friend went and got the gasket from honda while i was at work and he made a mistake and ordered the del sol si part....i never saw any info on what he ordered. i just put it on and everything seemed to line up just fine, but i was thinking about a couple of days ago and asked what car the gasket was from...del sol si. i needed the del sol vtec so i went and got a new one and it runs fine now . it was all just a big misunderstanding....i'm just glad it's fixed
