sudden weird vtec problem
the other day I put a b16 back in my teggy, well after the car warmed up I took it for a spin felt normal but when I went to pop vtec it studdered like I was bouncing off 2 step while driving. my vtec in my hondata is set at 6k. my car will not rev past 6k.
solonoid works I jumped it to the battery and it clicks. I took it apart everything was clean, screen is clean. no cels ever. my cel light does work and come on when a cel is thrown. has plenty of oil and pressure.
what am I missing here

all my grounds are good I even tried grounding the vtec wire straight to the frame. oil pressure light does work.
im going to check continuity (sp) from the shock tower to the ecu then shock tower to the plugs.
maybe I have a broken wire not letting the solonoid pop. but even wire tht it should still rev over the vtec crossover right. like if your vtec does kick it should still rev to 7k right?

fuel pressure is at 55 psi blox c cams
right now im on stock header, gutted cat. 2.5" piping to a stock axle back. do you think my exhaust is too restrictive? I am running pct pistons and stage 3 cams

make sure the oil pan is not dented and is too close to the pick up.. I have had that prob bite me in the *** a few times. it starves it for oil when vtec tries to engage.
timing is dead on just put a new head gasket in. im stumped its like im hitting 2 step while in gear driving. wont rev past 6k. when it gets to the vtec cross over the entire car stops accelerating and stutters like 2 step
I disabled knock had good pressure.
thanks for the ideas guys I fixed it.
vss was on the fritz. it was working then today decided not to work. started driving down the road it wasnt reading, out of no where it started working. so I replaced it and vtec works not
cause of problem = bad vss
