Default Stupid question about Valve Stem Seals

Would the engine smoke like crazy if you place intake valve stem seals on the exhaust side and exhaust stem seals on the intake side?

You sure cause I was looking at the exhaust ports on a d15 head the side with the intake seal is very oily and the side with the right seal on it which is the exhaust seal is dry.they had just did the valve stem seals and they mixed up the seals.three of the intake seals are on the exhaust side and three exhaust seals are on the intake. i have not checked the intake side yet. the exhaust ports with the right seals are dry.

The seal tension is slightly different between the two seals.I have seen them mixed up before without any problem. It sounds like in your case it does.Fix the mix up and see if it cures the problem.
