Default stupid fuel injection question...

ok I don't know much about fuel injection systems so this is probably a really stupid question but im going to ask anyways. when i bought my car a couple months ago (1991 honda accord lx.....16 valve fuel injection) i was told when it was safetied that the fuel injection system was really dirty and needed to be flushed...anyways im flushing it tomorrow and i was wondering will that give me a little more horse power than it has now because its clean again and/or better fuel economy?? I'm just not sure what cleaning the system actually does for my car. Thanks

Having your injectors cleaned will help performance if the injectors were dirty and fouled.

I personally just run fuel injection cleaner every once in a while. I have a whole stash of Regane I bought at the 99 cent store that I use every 6 months on my cars.

An injector cleaning can do wonders for your engine- but it depends on what products are being used. MAny people have great success with Regane. I have had great success with Techron concentrate. If you can inject that stuff directly into the fuel rail you will get a good cleaning. Clean injectors can atomize fuel more effectively which leads to more complete combustion and more power from the same amount of fuel.
