Default Stuck spark plug

I recently took my car to a Honda service center to get 120k schedule service done...well they said one of the spark plug in #1 is stuck.. everything is fine and no misfires but they did what they could to try to get it out. but couldn't (they didn't want to risk snapping it and having to pay for it)... they showed me my 3 old plugs and how dirty they were

I haven't made an attempt to do it myself... after searching on HT i'm going to try a couple methods...if i can't get it out, am i really SOL and have to take it to a machine shop?

-I'm gonna try to get it out when it's cold

-then the lube plus warm up the car then try it again

I just don't want to snap it... any other suggestions?

Spray some PB blaster down into the spark plug hole. Allow it to sit at least overnight, if not longer. Good luck!

PB Blaster puts WD40 to shame. I was gonna say the same thing. It's saved our collective asses at the shop many, many times. DON'T use any type of impact gun or you could snap it. Use hand tools.

spray lots of PB blaster drive around about 10-15min. then let the motor cool down with the hood up. then simply remove the spark plug with a spark plug tool

also it makes it easier if you use a T-handle rachet like this

its causes less risk of snapping

so this is what I did..

I finially got some time to check it out.. I bought some PB Blaster and was planning on spraying it and leaving it over night. But I wanted to check it out for myself.. I put the socket in and carefully started to put some force into it... and slowly it started to turn little by little. It was stuck pretty good, my palm feels like there's a large bister there from all the force I used.

But it just ticks me off that Honda told me it's stuck and they tried everything to get it out. and I let it sit over night and and the next morning I use put some effort into it and I got it out.

My service person made it seem like there was nothing I could do about it. Saying that well we couldn't get it out, but it's not misfiring so it's still good. But when it gose bad, then i'm stuck and Honda can't do anything for me.

It's so frustrating... but whatever.. thanks to everyone who gave some input... I did get the spark plug out, so mission accomplished.

Honda most likely did not want to risk high torque which could have stripped the threads or broken the plug. Just be glad that you did get it out without much drama.
