somehow its kinda rusted and starting to strip when i try to unscrew it. this sucks. any ingenious ways to get it out w/o having to remove the distributor? i dont have a timing gun.

screw it. i just need access to the wires to install a btm so i'm gonna cut through the plastic covering. it sucks that you have to remove the rotor in order to remove the plastic covering.

If you can get your hands on an impact screwdriver it should work.

Just slot the screw with a dremel and use a standard screwdriver to take it out.

BTW, you should be able to pop the plastic cover off without removing the rotor. At least i have been able to on the dizzys i've worked on.
