Default strong fuel smell in engine oil

Hi,

My engine oil smells strongly of fuel. Any ideas what might be the problem? Is this normal?

I have been having problems with my car's power and performance lately right after a valve adjustment in which the valves were adjusted too tight.. The fuel smell in the oil is one thing that caught my attention, just wondering if there is a connection..

Thanks

Es

Do you do alot of short trips? Running rich? Taking a nice long drive on the highway will burnoff all water and fuel from the oil.

It seems to be running rich after a valve adjustment I had gotten done on the car a couple of weeks ago..

Can the MAP sensor go bad because of a valve adjustment?? I am suspicious that the valves are leaking, but can the map sensor go bad because of bad intake valves??
