Stroking a B18 to 2.0?????
Just wandering if this would work using a crank and rods from a 1991 prelude si 2.0 or 2.05? I don't know what the deck height is on the two blocks but if it is the same as the b18 ( which I doubt it is) then I don't see why it won't work. Poor man's stroker????
I knew someone who did that same setup with no problems, except for detonation ( superhigh compression ). You should go for it if you have the parts.

a B20 block IS a stroked B18 block.
All Honda did was upgrade the sleeves to accept a wider piston, up'ing the displacement to 2L. Everything else internally, is B18/LS spec (crank, rods, bearings, etc)

Resleveing and new pistons would probably cost over $1000. The old Lude motors can be found for around $100. If the crank and rods are good in it then you could be in business. We have an old Lude core laying around and a b18a block so I may try this and see what I come up with. I just didn't know what the deck height was on a b20a vs. a b18a. If they are the same then a stroker kit could be had for around $100. I'm not sure what pistons would be best either. I have some b16 and b18a ones I could try along with the old Lude ones. If it works then I wander what compression would be. Some one mentioned these cranks were not very good. What is wrong with them? Also someone mentioned that the b20 block being very similar to the LS block. This may be true of the CRV b20 bolck but the Prelude b20 block is very different. The bottom end resembles a D series engine, the alternator mounts on the front of the block ect... The CRV b20 block has the same crank and rods as an LS but the pistons are 84mm. The pistons in the Prelude B20 block are 81mm so it has to get all of it's displacement from a longer stroke. Now, weather the deck height is taller than a B18a, I don't know. Further more, if the deck heights are the same, the putting the Lude crank and rods into the CRV B20 may yield a 2.2 liter engine.

To use the b20A crank from the prelude, a decent amount of work needs to be
done to the block, along with custom rods and pistons. you will end up spending
more than if you just sleeved it.
d series engines the alternator mounts on the back just like b series.

I konow that the alternator mounts on the back of the block on a D series engine. On the Prelude engine, it mounts on the front. The prelude engine resembles a D series engine in that the bottom end (main caps bridge) are similar in design.
2.2 L engine must come from an 86 borex 95 stroke, even then its a little short.
its not a good crank, i was told something like, the counterweights, blow, and the balancing is bad, it wasnt meant for performance, and its not worth it to try and make it like that.
dont be cheap and buy an eagle one for like 750...
you always need custom rods to make the strokers work. and then you need to resleeve anyways, to get lengthened sleeves, and a deckplate so your r/s ratio isnt total crap.

this is correct, open up an ls block and a b20b/z block you'll see all the same including crank/rods, etc only sleeves are different and obviously piston because of bore. even ordering parts from honda they share all the smae part numbers with the exception of the headgasket and piston ..
