Default Stripped stud Threads.. Time-sert?? B18a1

My problem is that when tighting down the arp head studs two fo them popped. Which turned out to be the block threads coming loose. Is there anyone in the Sacramento, Ca area that has a time-sert kit that would be willing to help? If not any ideas what a shop would charge to do this?

Any engine shop can do this for prob 50 bucks but you'd have to remove the engine obviously.

Engine is out already on a stand. I am leary about taking it back for more work without a quote up front, which no shops in the area will do.

I took my JG sleeved block in to a local V-8 machine shop.. They put Big Serts (A time sert product) in 2 of my head studs holes... Then I also had them install 3 time-serts in 3 other holes that just didnt feel right.

In total it cost me 110 bucks and was done in 24 hours. Havent blown a headgasket since. 461 at the wheels.

If i was you .. I would take your block in ASAP, should be under 50 for you.

How far do i have to tear it down to have this done? Will they require the internals out, i just got them back in. But what ever needs to be done i guess. Hopefully i can drop it off on monday.

Machine shops usually charge $20 a hole for time serts. You should be able to get it done as long as the heads off. I don't think that it matters that the internals are installed.
