Default stripped screw

need some suggestions. i have cel 10 for iat n one of the screws is stripped. ive tried grippin it w/vice grips but no success. REALLY dont want to take off the intake mani since its a pain. drill wont fit else id use that.

take off the mani....going to save u alot of headaches and time.....they aren't a pain...u can rip one off with coolant lines an all in under 15 mins....or is that just me...

ya 15 minutes until you have to scrape the old gasket off... that takes days... you could cut the head off and when you get your iat off there would be more screw to get a grip w/ vice grips?

edit: how about cutting a notch in the screw and using a huge *** flathead?

yeah the nuts under the mani r the hard part. n ive thought bout cutting the head off. might try it this weekend. what would i cut a notch w/?

no dremel only a drill with the cutoff wheel bit. .

try using an impact chizel. thats what i did when i had a stripped screw. u cab get some pretty long bits
