Default Stripped Oil Pan Solutions Needed!

So it looks like my oil pan's thread is stripped. After some research, I'm now considering using an "expanding rubber plug". Problem is, no stores around here sells them. Does anyone know websites that sells this? How reliable is the plug? Any other recommendations? I want to avoid having to tap it, due to the metal shavings involved.

This is for a 1993 Honda Prelude VTEC. Drain plug size is M14 x 1.5. If someone could tell me the brand name, and part number... or a direct link, that'll be great.

Thanks in advance.

Will the Dorman #65200 work? 1/2" Dia.; 5/8" Length

http://www.partsamerica.com/Pr...65200

Or should I go with the 5/8" diameter?

I wouldn't trust one. Think of it this way... if for whatever reason that plug falls out and your oil drains, by the time you shut the car down after the oil light comes on you'll probably already have a spun bearing.

Just take the pan off when you tap it if you're worried about shavings, or get a magnetic drain plug.

Valvoline Instant oil Change shops have them. But They are more of a band-aid until you get the real issue solved.

Not sure how expensive they are but if all else fails just get a new oil pan. Thats honestly your only 2 options.
