Default Strange vtec problem

So Im having this strange problem with my motor that I cant seem to figure out, Maybe you guys can help me out with this.

When my engine is about to ingauge in to vtec I can feel that change over start but it will get cut out by some thing. I have a vtec light and it is spliced in at the ECU, When the vtec is suppose to ingauge the light comes on but there is no ingaugement. I do throw code 6 (ECT) and code 22 (vtec pressure valve) and I Have checked the wiring for both, but when I shut the car off an let it sit for a little while then run it vtec will ingauge for 1st an 2nd but then in 3rd it will suddenly cut out like as if i have a Low rev limiter (like 7k)

I just cant seem to figure this out. The ecu tells the vtec soleniod to in gauge but some how it just wont. Oil is fine, wiring is fine, There is a signal going to the vtec soleniod but it just wont work..... Please help!

well 6 is engine collant temp sensor and usually if u have one of those go out, it will get kinda irratical slightly but clean out your vtec solenoid screen and reset the ecu

Lol, I guess but Im still throwing the same cel light. Nothing happens when it comes on but neather the less it still comes on. I just changed the ECT like 3-4 mo ago. I dont know why it would go bad again. Like I said before it runs and still pulls hard and with any luck my H2B will be in this week end so I could care less about the CEL

Lol thanks,

Now will this make it so no matter when, or where vtec will engauge? like even if the motor is to cold or low on oil?

No, by tapping into the solenoid wire with the oil pressure wire, it tells the ecu that their is oil in the motor and its ready. All other factors are dependent upon the Ecu. Car being warm enough, its moving.

This should work for you. If it doesnt, come back.

had a very similar problem, i had the ECT plug and the VTEC switch plug switched around. code 6 and 22 just like you, no vtec, and was hard as hell to start. moved them to the right places and all is well.

changed out the motor, and got the wires mixed up when i was plugging everything back in. there is an ECT sensor right by the VTEC solenoid pressure switch. the plugs are the same and they reach, i just had to plug the right plug into the right spot and fixed my problem. it wouldn't start because of the ECT not reading.

Ok guys,
you told me to come back if the problem persists and well tonight I went out and guess what.. Yup you got it NO VTEC again!!!!

This is what happened, The car ran good all night till I got on it in a corner.. then it went out again. I tried everything that was said about switching and hot wiring the vtec soleniod and nothing worked. I checked the oil and it was fine I checked the wires an they were fine also. Last time this happen I pulled the O2 out (hear the cross over better that way) and it started working again. I tried that this time at it worked for all of 1st gear then went out again. Well this time I pulled the vtec soleniod off the head and cleaned the screen ( it was clean to start) put it back on and went out to walk a b16ef ( it enguaged) I just dont get what it could be????

Please some one help
