Default Strange power loss, need help!

This is for a B16 powered crx.

A few weeks ago the car ran excellent, but seemed to be very low on power. There were no codes, no smoke, it just didn't sound right, and didn't rev as willingly as it should. After doing every electrical test in the book, everything checked out O.K. The car seemed to get worse the more I drove it. Now the car doesn't have the power to rev past 4500, in pings heavily, and the spark plugs show that the car is running very rich. This only started happening about a year after the swap was done, so it's is not due to poor installation of the engine, or wiring. The timing is perfect, fuel filter is new, wires, plugs, cap, and rotor are all new, injectors are all clean and check out O.K. electrically. I've run out of ideas. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Well if the plugs are showing rich then that could very well be your problem. How bout the compression? Have you checked that? Sounds fuel related to me......

Well, as soon as the car started running this way I pulled the plugs and they were fine, then as I drove the car more, this problem got worse, and when I pulled the plugs again, they were pretty bad. So this tells me the problem started even before the plugs got bad.

I also thought it could be fuel related, but with a new filter, and good fuel pressure tested at the regulator, I'm not sure that's the problem.

Hows you air filter? I know my filter use to be filthy once and the car ran like ***. Was making me run rich due to very little air comming in. Once i cleaned it out, i got alot of that lost power back.

well, it looks like i may have found the problem. the catalytic converter, from a 99 civic si with only 45k on it, decided to completely fall apart inside. it is perfectly clean with no carbon buildup or soot, it just decided to fall apart. Not sure why this happened, but it definetely caused the exhaust flow to be almost 100% blocked.
