Default Straight edge for checking head/block - what type?

I've searched around and everyone says use a straight edge to see if your head/block is warped. What I'd like to know is if this is the right kind of straight edge:

... or is there a more accurate machinist kind of straight edge out there? if so where can I get a hold of one? Thanks.
