Default STR cam gear timing

Just installed my cams and cam gears and a new Honda timing belt. Did I set up everything correctly, TDC and timing mark wise?

I put in some pins to lock the cams in place while I put the timing belt on. The left cam looks okay, but the right cam looks a little off? I tried to leave the cams at 0 degrees. Any input on mistakes I made?

by looking at your first picture I see your crank pulley is off about 1/2 tooth mark and on the second picture I see the intake cam is off about 1/2 tooth mark. solution to problem: readjust the crank pulley mark with the arrow, that should help line up the intake cam mark too. also to me the cam gears don't seem to be EXACTLY at stock setting, I could be too nit picky about that but I would hate to hear the engine run like crap if I knew everything isn't lined up perfectly. just my .02

It will probably start, but it will probably run like crap. I would fix it first.

I do NOT recommend starting it up the way it is. It will start and run most likely, but the intake cam doesn't look to be lined up at TDC (maybe off by one tooth)..

Tips for lining them up to TDC (as sleeperciv has stated above).

Loosen the Tensioner, line the crank to TDC, move your intake cam by one tooth. The teeth on the timing belt should line up (maybe not 100% exact, but they should line up nonetheless).

TAKE pics when you are done so we can verify them again.

HTH.

If i remember right, the cam gears always seemed to tilt towards the front of the car a little... as in CCW if youre looking at it from the drivers side. Just a little bit though...also, make sure you spin the crank and verify that the 2 tick marks on the side actually DO line up with each other.. that way at least you know that the gears are in synch...

note: this reply wont be very helpful in fixing your problem.

ahem*
nice work on the pics!!
digital cameras come in SO handy for this type of thing, much better than just trying to type how your gears are setup.

also, those gears look nice.
I wonder why no one has tried to do an entire bronze color scheme, with like.. bronze cam gears, bronze wheels, bronze strut bars(itr) and maybe a few other touches.

would look relly nice on any shade of gray/black car, or blue..

What you guys fail to see is that he has put locking pins in the camshaft so they both have to be at top dead center. The only way they could be off is if you have milled the head? If not the cams are fine but the bottom crank looks a tad off but im sure it would start and run fine esp. on an ls motor.
