stock tach going crazy
I have the same exact problem, however, mine is with an OBD1 H22. I ended up just hardwiring the blue tach signal directly to the stock tach. Wish i could've figured this out.

It fixed my problem and I rev up to aroudn 7700 now. Off the dizzy it is a blue wire. I don't know which wire you are looking for in your harness. You'll need to get a diagram to figure out which in your cluster is for tach signal.
I believe it is blue as well, but don't quote me.
