stock P72 ecu on a B18Cr?? bogging..
my cousin just put a fresh b18cr motor in his hatch..
when it was first installed the motor would run like a charm..
but now it is.. hmmmm bogging/hesitating/rough idle/sounds like it is running on 3 cylinders sometimes?
he's using a STOCK p72 ecu on it..
he replaced the spark plugs and wires with ngk a new oem fuel filter..
there are no check engine lights and all the sensors are plugged in.
we don't know what to do so that is why we are looking to you guys for your knowledge. do you think it could be that it's just not getting or getting more than enough air/fuel cuz of the ecu?
thanks in advance!

Re: stock P72 ecu on a B18Cr?? bogging.. (Project_EGG)
no help here?
well i found out that when it bogs up, it is only running on 3 cylinders..
i know there is compression in it because it acts fine most of the time so i don't know.

Check the cap check to see carbon tracking it looks like a crack but it's not its electricity burning through the cab. If you have a multimeter check the resistance in the spark plug wire. Proberly needs a tune up

Re: stock P72 ecu on a B18Cr?? bogging..
Sorry to revive an old thread but did OP figure out his problem. I'm having a similar problem on my b18cR. It bogs from 0-2000rpm Feels like the fuel cuts in and out on the pedal but I know it's not the TPS. Also I'm thinking it's the way the wiring was done. I bought the car like that it's an eg si. When you Touch the wires next to the ECU it moves idle up or down on cluster and sometimes even bogs out. I know it's not the engine cause when I bought it I drove it 2hrs 80mph or more the whole way back. any help?? Any advice??

First off OP was using the wrong ECU for the engine unless he had a P73 base map. What ECU are YOU using? If it bogs when you touch the harness you obviously have a bad or loose connection.

Ok i will rewire all wires that were cut and rewired. Then I'll go from their. My ecu does not have any stamp on it. Is their any other way to know or check.

Also this is a quick question. I replaced my head on my b18b1 in my 95 Integra. Did the whole thing . Replaced appropriate gaskets. But I forgot to put this metal gasket/sprocket that goes behind the crank pulley . Is that bad? I'm worried .
