Still Having Idle Problems. Possible ECU Issue?
Ok, I have swapped a b18a1 into my 88 civic dx. Converted everything over from dpfi to mpfi and have done everything as far as I know correctly. Well, I got all my wiring done by rywire and everything bolts up smoothly. I have a empty plug on the harness though and I'm thinking its either the plug or the ECU that is the issue with my irratic idle. I bought the ECU off ebay (go figure) for a decent price. It is a obd1 pr4, as is everything else on the motor. I bought a brand new IACV and have all the unneccessary vacume lines plugged and the ones I'm using plumbed correctly. God, It's late and if you guys have any imput or questions please give/ask them. It would help very much so.
what do you mean, "warms up then dies"? check this thread out, i believe u have the same problem i just fixed. read the thread, watch the video, and go back into more detail of how the motor dies.

Are you throwing any CEL? If so pull the code and figure out whats going on.
If the code is 14 and its your IACV, you most likely plugged the wrong connector into the IACV. There are 2 plugs that fit the IACV, an emissions one and the iacv plug. The emissions fits nicely with some slack on the harness, whereas the iacv plug's harness has to be tugged on a little bit in order to get it on. It seems to be a common mistake.

Before I did accidently have the wrong plug in the iacv. Fixed that and the idle evened out sorta. I have a open sensor that looks the same as the iacv sensor on the back of the block by the alt. The plug for that sensor is all the way over by the back of the tranny almost by the firewall. I think its also the same as my coolant temp sensor plug. I will also try popping off the ficv and bleeding the coolant. I have been talking with some mechanics at work and they mentioned bleeding the coolant. I will let you guys know how things turn out tomorrow.
jdmsiR20: What ended up being your problem??? Was it the ficv?
