Sticky throttle BDL B18C
We recently just got done turboing a B18C and we are using a 72mm BDL throttle body. At first, the pedal would stick, like it was hard to move. We adjusted the spring 1/2 rotation, and that seemed to take care of that. but at the same time, the throttle body sticks open.
If i'm slowy driving down the road 4th gear 35mph, and i push the gas ever so slightly, it'll get caught and stick. It gets stick high enough to pull my car. If i push the clutch in, the revs go up to 3k, sometimes 5k.
It doesnt matter how fast i'm going nor what gear i'm in. It gets stuck. If i'm just trying to drive up my driveway and i hit the gas, go in and push the clutch down, the revs shoot up to 3-5k. I set my moms alarm off the other night cuz it went up so high.
Now whens its stuck if i mash it to the floor and let off quick, it seems to snap back. but it doesnt always. The throttle cable is not to tight. It went up to 3k, and the throttle cable was all the way to the normal spot, and if u push up on the pedal there is no movement.
So we think it has something to w/ the throttle plate. It looked like it was sticking in one spot, so we filed off some of the plate, and we can tell its not catching anywhere.
The car started doing it one morning, stoped doing it for half a day and then proceeded to get worse that night and has been that way since. I have no idea in which direction to turn. can anyone help me?????
