Default Steering colum/ignition switch replacement.

So i've had a bent steering column from thieves for a long time. I have the replacement (I believe its OBD2 but I can just swap the wiring right?) but I want to use my existing ignition switch on the new column. Is it possible to just swap it over or do I need to get the new column's ignition re-keyed? Searched around, this doesn't seem to be a common thing to do...

TIA

The keyed part of the switch is connected to the electrical part by two, maybe three screws. You should be able to swap key cylinders withaout any problem.
