Default State Ref BAR cert. California

I have 95 Del Sol Si model with a B16A3 that I bought from a junk yard. The engine is out of a 96 VTEC Del Sol. I am trying to get any info as to what I should do to it BEFORE I go see a state ref and try to get a BAR certificate. I was told the CTR cams I have would not make a difference, as the Vtec cam profile is not engaged during the smog test. My intake, header and exhaust are all CARB legal and I rebuilt the motor before installing it i.e. new rings/seals/water pump/etc. All the sensors are plugged in and the computer shows no codes. Should I use a P28 SOHC Vtec brain when testing? or would it not make a difference. Any help from anyone who knows about this or HAS done this would be great. I don't want no problems with the FUZZ when I get pulled over!

Okay, first off, the CARB legal means nothing unless they are for the 96 delsol vtec. If you bought a 96, im pretty sure its a B16A2. If its a B16A3, then its a 95. You need to track down an OBD-1 USDM P30 ECU. All of the emissions related equipment needs to be hooked up, IE evap purge solienoid.
you will fail with a SOHC p28 ecu

Get a fresh cat, and you'll have no problems passing smog.

Good luck.

I just realized the other day that I removed that part. Now correct me if I'm wrong, but it is a little black vacuum part that would bolt to the manifold on a SOHC? The top vacuum line goes to the charcoal canister? and the bottom to the in. manifold right? Should I use a "T" hose connector and splice into my fuel pressure regulator line for the bottom line? Also Is the BAR plaque hard to get? What proof do I need that the engine is same year or newer than my car? Will the state ref. know that the GSR 4-1 header is not for a Del Sol? I don't want to go in and get tickets an isht, you know!
