Default Starting to throw rod, possible damage?

I have an OBD0 B16a and about a week ago I was driving and a rod started knocking. I drove for about 15 more minutes and in the last 3 minutes or so, it started getting louder and losing power. I shut it off, and towed it to the house and haven't touched it since. My question is, what kind of damage should I expect to find if I decide to rebuild? It didn't completely blow because it WILL start back up, it just doesn't have much power behind it. I'm hoping the entire thing isn't blown. Please someone help me out and tell me what I might be getting into in terms of fixing the throwing rod.

Also, if anyone is interested in trading a b18 for mine, shoot me a PM. (I know it probably won't happen though.)

Drain the oil and see how much metal you have with your oil

The crankshaft journals are probably shot. The rods may or may not be salvageable.
Depending on how much metal got into the head, the cam journals maybe shot also, which really sucks because it will cost more to repair the head than to replace it.
The block, pan, pickup and valvecover should be OK if they are THOROUGHLY cleaned. The cams may be ok.
Honestly probably not gonna be worth rebuilding it. Might be worthwhile finding a good used LS or B20 longblock and just swap it...Good luck!

Sounds like a spun crank bearing...
