i have had my act clutch for about 30k with jun flywheel , i have been having starter problems for over a year , the car starts about 60% of the time but the other time the i here the starter grind the flywheel and wont start , this is kinda pissing me off , i did some research and i heard the US spec starters and jdm jun flywheels teeth dont match up causing the starter to grind? the starter is the origal starter over 150 k so its proably time for a new starter , will a jdm b16 starter fix the problem or is my flywheel toast proably ? any help appreaciated

 

 

I've never heard of jdm flywheels being different...
take starter out and look for damage on the starter teeth or the flywheel

 

This same thing happened to my brother with his ACT Flywheel.

He ended up buying a life time warranty starter from autozone. The flywheel chewed up that starter, so he got it replaced again for free. The third one seems to be holding up with no problems.

I would get a JDM spec starter, and not deal with replacing it every 3-4 months.
