never have. never seen one come loose.

Even if it did come loose, does the axle really have any place to go? I have another car I've had problems with and if the axle nut comes off the entire wheel and hub comes along with it (it's the rear wheels on a 4wd subaru justy). And the nuts like to come loose because the teeth on the axles and hubs are completely striped. I've had the wheel fall off while I was driving it 3 different times.
