SRP spiral lock installation

I can't install these for the life of me, does anyone have any pointers? I was told to slowly crawl the spiral lock back but I can't seem to do it.. These are not the C locks but the spiral ones.

it really matters what "o'clock" you start at.

spread them apart a bit, feed in the leading edge, and slowly rotate them in.
