Default Squeakin belts

I just got all my belts + timing belt replaced right before it got cold, maybe a month ago.
now all of a sudden i hear a little squeak right when i start up my car.... ????

Your alternator belt is loose, loosen the top bolt that bolts the alternator to the block and pry the alternator back some. Then tighten the bolt up. Should be less than a 1/4" of deflection on the belt.

its a d16z6 motor... aren't there 2 bolts i need to mess with?
i dont want to over tighten it..

It's only the top bolt. Just loosen it and put something in between the alternator and the block and make it nice and tight. Then just tighten the bolt. And I do have the D16Z6 engine also.

An easier fix is to take a bar of soap,readily available in your home,I hope. With the car running,hold the soap against the underside of the belt,or just use belt-ease.

It's easier than taking apart anything,unless you just want to.

Tightening the belt is the best solution. Soap, belt lube and belt dressing work for a little while, then you replace the belt again.

Soap, dressing and anything like that will work, but only for a while. Plus you have to buy it. It's easier and cheaper to just tighten the belt.
