Springs Help Please!
I took my Eibach lowering springs to midatlantic motor sports to get them installed and they are telling me that now I need a new control arm. They cut the bolt that is connecting the control arm and the traction arm because they couldn't get the bolt out. So they told me all I needed was a new control arm bushing. I didn't care seeing as it was $20. Well today I was supposed to get my car back but they said Honda sent the wrong bushing. So I went there to see what the problem was and then they mention "Honda is saying you need a whole new control arm now". Was this even necessary? Now I have to pay for damage I didn't even cause and they didnt even make me sign a paper that authorizes them to do work on my car. I want to know if it was even necessary to remove the control arm completely from the car in order to install new springs on a 1998 civic ex. It was the left rear control arm.
I think you should go back there and threaten to sue them if they don't cover the cost of the damage that they incurred to your car. Just sounds like they are trying to cover up there screw up.
they shoudlnt have had to cut the bolt off. i had problems wit mines cuz it was rusted but if they use sum rust buster and leverage there shouldnt be a problem . but i would go there and bitch a fit and threaten them a lawsuit.and no u dont have to remove the control arm to get the strut out. all they had to do was take the bolts out from the control arm and pull it down to take out the strut assembly
