Default Need help on control arms bushings? please

well got my car back from the shop today and he said that the camber is off by -1.5 degrees. that is on my right side. He said that that will cause wear, i am wondering how long it will take for the wear to appear.

also when i go over bumps my axels sound like they rattle. the guys at the shop told me that it was the control arm bushings, and that in order to replace them you have to buy a whole new control arm. is that true? TIA

When I installed lowering springs the bolt was rusted and broke off I took it to a dealer to press out but they destroyed a bushing they said it cost just about as much to replace the bushing as it did to find a used or aftermarket control arm. So I just replaced both control arms with aftermarket which came with the bushings.

how much did it cost you to replace them both?

Was it top and bottom control arms? or just the bottom?
Thanks again and keep responses coming

I was assuming that you meant the lower in which was my case. I bought them from Megan racing on ebay. most people don't like ebay but these were a great product. it came to about $80 w/ shipping and they come in a silver, red or blue anodized finish. well worth the money. check it out.

if you have access to a hydraulic press or a friend who does you can do it yourself use a 36mm socket

and im no expert on the subject but i dont think bad bushings would make a rattling noise...sounds like your springs or something

mine weren't bad, the bolt holding the driver-rear strut assem. was rusted and broke off. I am in school for an automotive tech, and we just finished the suspension section and a bad bushing can squeak, rattle or clunk. was the shop recommending that you replace them or were they trying to sell them? I would have a reputable shop (I don't know what shop you took them to) go over all the susp. components to make sure that it is the bushings and not something else. hope that helps have to go to class good luck.

that is what i thought, they started rattling after i was in kind of a t-bone accident where i was hit in the front fender and door, and now i am thinking the tire. But all the suspension feels tight and looks fine, the guy checked it out and couldn't find anything that was wrong besides that the bushing were worn out.
