i'm putting a set of stock Accord springs back on and after compressing the spring with an impact gun, putting the top hat back on and decompressing it, the spring is never straight. it tends to be bent to one side no matter how many times and how many different methods i use.
i'm using a spring compressor rental from AutoZone. i would appreciate some helpful hints or tips.

the bottom of the spring is against the perch. the spring does seem a little long but, i'm not sure if this is the correct spring because these springs are for a 96 accord and i'm trying to get it to fit a 91 accord.
i would think they are the same spring, since when you buy aftermarket springs, they are for the 90-97 accords, so they use the same aftermarket spring.
other then taht, i dont kno what to tell ya man. good luck tho.

yeah I have had that problem with the stock springs on my old 96 accord, I put it all back to stock when I sold it, and even used Autozone spring compressors too! Well anyways, as long as the spring is in the bottom spring perch and upper spring perch, and the springs look cocked or what ever when you install the assembly on the car and drive it they should settle themselves to look like they should. Thats what I did and they worked for me shouldn't be any problem. Well hope this helps, Jordan.
There should be a little notch where the end of the spring sits on the perch; make sure the spring's end is in that notch.
Other than that, if you had to compress the spring down hard, then it may just need to settle back out once it's ridden on some. Don't worry about it.
