What's so special about these pistons? They are listed for $360 for the set. Please help me understand technically. Spoon will not email back with answers. It's like a conspiracy.

there's nothing super special about them.
this is what they are...

- All 4 pistons are balanced/match weighted by Spoon.
- They're not a piston made by Spoon, its just an OEM JDM ITR pistons touched by the hands of a SPOON employee and repackaged in a Spoon box.
-These pistons resold as spoon ITR pistons, usually come complete with rings.
-that's it...

there type r pistons. that are new and should be balance from the factory the spoon logo is a kick in the face, thats what it is.

hahahahahahahaha...don't waste your money!

I promise. I just bought some brand new pistons from Acura(.25ITR) and when I took them to the machine shop guess what they said? THEY WERE ALREADY BALANCED FROM THE FACTORY!!! I took all my stuff there to be balanced and assembled, and the only thing that needed balanced were the rods! SPOON's **** is a waste of hard-earned money! Don't buy those pistons. You can get the same thing cheaper from the Acura/Honda parts department.

I was told... by god (a friend that has forgotten more about hondas than i will ever know) that the spoon pistions are just lightened, polished,ballanced, and matched jdm itr/ctr units from the factory and that i would be better off just buying a nice set of forged pistions.

you can say they are spoon spec ITR piston .. instead of factory spec ITR piston

Other then that...265 for JDM ITR pistons isnt bad at all. Spoon makes really high quality parts...and the labor that goes into it shows on the price tag. Their CF hoods are probably one of the best in the world and their headers are bad ***. I personally would love their brake calipers ..they look tite...dont think they will perform THAT much better then OEM though. I have a Spoon TB which I got at like 375 or something. I wouldnt get anything else from Spoon unless it was at a really good price.

Yeah, if you ask me, I feel the same way about Spoon. They are a ripe off. Spoon probably bout them and shipped them to the states, which problably cost more. It's probably the same as the factory. But if anyone has put one side by side or weighed them, let me know. Thanks guys for your honest opinion.
