Default Speedo problems...weird stuff.

Okay, this seems wierd to me..

I have an Si cluster in my EK Dx. For some reason now, the speedo seems to jump around at certain points. One when the car is pretty cold and two when I'm WOT.

Here is what I thought: I had alternator problems a month or so back...I had to charge my car everyday for a month straight. So, I'm sure my battery is shot to hell. I notice that when I'm driving my headlights dim and light up at certain throttle positions. Maybe, for some odd reason, this is also effecting the speedo.

Here is what my friend thinks: A week or so ago (when all this began to happen) we drove the car pretty dang fast. The speedo was pinned...could it be that the little motor inside was trying to go higher but couldn't due to the limitations of the cluster? Seems to make some sense. Still not sure. He also said that VTEC wasn't working when he layed into it...

Soooo, we took out the cluster and put the stock speedo in (DX speedo in Si cluster). Everything seemed to work fine. VTEC was kicking in...pulling like usual. Problemfixed? Later that night I got on it again and it started jumping around again.

Soo, now I'm stumped. Anyone out there have a clue? Calibration?? ECU???
