Default Speedo jumping around, elec problem??

When i get high in the revs and let off the speedo does some funky dance for a second before returning to normal!! Bounces upto like 100mph ( 2nd ) and then returns to normal.

Any ideas ??? VSS ?? Could this possible cause some drivability issues??

Thanks

VSS, try just pulling it out and plugging back in. If that doesn't work then i'd go get a new one. Or used one.

Won't cause drivablility issues, just that when your speedo goes to 100mph that also reads on your odometer. So your miles will tick as if you were going 100mph.

the vss is on the tranny itself, look where your throttle body is, and look straight down, check the connection to the vss, to ensure no moisture is in it

Your brake light will not have anything to do with your vss but if you have a loose ground on the tranny or valve cover these problems can also occur. I would probably just lean towards the vss being bad though.
