Default Spedometer Problem

I dropped my transmission to put in a new clutch and flywheel.
Put everything back together.

Now my Spedometer does not work. I have heard it is located under my intake manifold/throttle body and has 2 hoses connected to it.
What makes the unit function? What could be the most probable cause?

Thanks

check the speedsensor on the tranny...its towards the fire wall on the back/top of the tranny next to the rear mount bracket.

What model car are you asking about? If it is a cable tranny then the hoses you are refering to are for speed sensative steering but do not have anything to do with the speedo working.

Check the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) if it is plugged in and still isn't working it could be bad, they usually go around 100.000 miles.

Oops didnt include type of car. 1993 H23 Lude.
The VSS is located under the intake manifold/throttle body, near the rear mounting bracket right?

I remember taking it off when I removed the rear mounting bracket.

What do you mean by plug in the VSS? Is it a hose/ wire?
