i was talking to some dude the other day, he said he bought a b16 swap from some company and had it shipped to him. so he put it in his ef, and the hood wouldnt close. he says it was sticking up like an inch higher than it was supposed to. Anyways, then he says the company he bought the motor from calls him up saying they sent him the wrong motor, and they sent him some special edition b16 out of a 93 jdm integra. and they want him to ship it back to them. supposedly this thing has an extra inch or so added to the deck height(i guess thats why his hood wouldnt close).
Has anyone ever heard of this???? i was thinking it was a ctr motor, but that will fit in an ef without any problems, plus it doesnt come in a jdm 93 integra.

Im not sure if this guy was lying or what, first time i met the guy, seemed to know what he was talking about though. whats ur guys's opinions on this, anyone ever seen this motor?

ttt, i think this guy was full of ****, but then you never know. did u guys know there is a H23 vtec motor. it came in a 99+ accord AWD wagon, sorry automatic trans only. thats weird, could this b16 exist? it must have like a 2:1 rs ratio

 

Read the block stamp. Special edition motor my ***.

 

Maybe it was a deck plate motor but if it was it wouldnt be a drop in swap cause you need a new timing belt and water pump.Its probably BS man.

Look in between the block and head. That is where they weld in the deckplate.

 

yea, i have never seen the motor personally, and i have no clue what motor mounts he used. ill try and find the guy and take a look at it

 

could be a B16B... special edition from the Civic type R. uses an ITR block and B16 crank. hence the higher deck height.

 

yea i know about the ctr, same as gsr block, but this guy said it had like another inch added on the deck height, not just a few millimeters. I dont know, maybe it was a built motor that somebody extended the deck, i have no clue, honestly i dont even care anymore

 

So that motor was put in to a 88-91 civic? Factory hood?

 

B16A = 263mm's... B18C/16B = 270mm's... 1 inch + 263mm's = 289mm deck... That's pretty tall... Maybe with a deckplated otherwise he's full of ****... The XSi B16A is the same as any other... I wish it was real, with a ~156.776mm rod you could drop a B18C (87.20mm) crank and have a 1.797 R/S... With an B18A/B/20B/Z crank and 156.06mm rods you have close to stock B16A R/S ~1.753... We still need a bigger crank... hehe... I like the B18C's 1.58 R/S nice torque and rev... ~1.6 R/S is perfect for me... Peace
