Sparks flying from starter wire..

Default Sparks flying from starter wire..

I did a b18a1 swap into my 88 crx si. car will not start. cranks but will not start..it has spark to all four cylinders and it is also getting fuel..Now since my battery is in my trunk i have a cable running from the positve termonal to the fuse box in the engine bay. now when ever i put this cable to the termanal it makes a **** load of sparks come someone help me please!

the sparks are coming from the termanal it self.

It sounds like you have a short in the new cable. Go along it and see if you can see where the insulation has been worn through or chafed away.

you also should have another power wire coming from the positive cable for the starter... one goes in the box the other hooks to the starter...

ya i do have a power wire from the termanal to the starter.but could the short in the other line cause the car not to start?

mine did that and it turned out that i put the starter cable on upside down. but sounds to me like u gotta grounding issue

What gauge wire should i use for the connection from the battery to the fuse box?
