Sometimes (rarely, but still happens) when I come to a stop at a light, my RPMs do not drop. Instead they stay hovering at 2000-2500. Then sometimes they'll drop down to the normal 800 after a bit and sometimes they wont. Also, I'm not positive about this, but it seems to happen more when I first start driving, not when the car's cold, but when its freshly warm and I just started out.

I've seen this happen before when I'm low, real low, on coolant. However my coolant levels are fine.

Any ideas?

On my car the little rubber boot that goes over the throttle cable was holding it open a little bit.

 

Sometimes iacv's go bad and thats typically the symptom. Check it out. You may need a new one.
