Solid check engine light, and Hondata
OK, We seem to be having this problem on our LS/VTEC CRX. Running a p28 with a stage 3.
the car is totally stripped down, and we are using the CRX harness, converted to OBDI. The car runs fine and everything, but we're having some trouble with the check engine light.
The car obviously no longer has the check engine light. and is OBD0, so it doesn't have the jumper like the OBD1 ECU needs.
Now, the Hondata installation manual says to wire the shift light LED in parallel to the check engine light. We just ran it in place of the check engine light. do we need to change the resistance of the LED or something?
What happens now, is that the LED comes on bright when the fuel pump is priming.. Then it dims while starting the car..and soon after it's started, it goes back to bright, and stays bright. It doesn't blink or anything.
The hondata box has the solid LED (which means the hondata works, but there's a CEL)
Also, when we jumped the two pins (D5 and D26, if I recall correctly) that you are supposed to jump to get the check engine light to come on (if we had an OBD1 harness), it does not change the behavior of the shift light/cel LED
Sorry if this is confusing.. I tried to provide as much information as I could. If you need any more information to help, please ask. I'm counting on you guys!

thing is, it's a solid light even when the code ISN'T checked..
the hondata indicator light seems to think the ECU is fine...and the Hondata seems to be functioning properly..

Can this be confirmed? I have a solid CEL on my car, no hondata tho, i just thought this was the case normally....with no codes at all it goes solid?
