Ugh! I have a 2000 honda civic LX - (Engine is D16Y7 i believe, SOHC)

The car starts, then trys to die after hitting the gas. RPM's drop like crazy, and it runs like crap! I was thinkin distributor or alternator. The battery is fully charged though! Running at over 14V idle, and 13.1V with AC and lights on. Very strange.

Im thinking the wires are crossed, and its miss-firing. It sounds a lil "putty" at the tail pipe. I let my friend do my wires while I was at work cause the car was feeling like crap, and i didnt have the time.

Here is how its wired:

someone else posted this for DOHC i think, but this is how mine is wired!

Desperate! Anybody?

Update: Here is the diagram from a Haynes book (for D16Y7 Motor):
I just dont know how to read it:

Thanks again

It's correct. Make sure they're plugged in good.

Btw what were you doing to you car, or did it just happen??

Re: (Reason)
Basically, the car just started to feel like it was having a serious loss of power.

I didnt do anything to it at all. Its been gradual for about 3 weeks or so now.

all wires are in good.

I dont know what to do.

Re: (Eclpze97)
Highly doubt its a cat issue though. its a 2000 with only 40K miles on it. then again, ya may never know!

it feels more like an electrical problem though to be honest.

This is correct, your original diagram of the firing order is wrong

Thanks Man! I was looking for the firing order for my DOHC engine, and found your question about you plug wire. When you said that you thought it was the DOHC wiring order, I printed your picture and ran out to my Accord to try it out. Sure enough, it fired right up! Because of that I've joined this website just to thank you. This was a definite headache for me.
