Which Snap-on torque wrench?
I am looking to buy a nice torque wrench. I was looking at the 3/8" drive 20-100ft-lbs. Will this be a good wrench for me? I plan on using it a lot for rebuilding/assembling my motor and suspension. I don't figure I'll need anything over 100ft-lbs for doing basic assembly of a motor. Just want to be sure before I drop mucho $$$ on a friggin wrench.
Dude ur gonna get raped if i buy a snap-on torque wrench. I work at honda and we have the snap on guy come every week. Ur looking at like 500-1,000 for a good torque wrench NO LIE...Go craftsman, and if u break it they are garaunteed...
Oh come on. Snap-on is really expensive, but not THAT much. $500+ is what you can expect if you want a top of the line 1/2 drive snap-on impact. For most tools I'd agree, just go craftsman. For wrenches, ratchets, and specialty tools snap-on can make sense though and a torque wrench may be one of them if you use it alot or need more accuracy. Here's a really sexy snap-on electronic torque wrench for $294. Their standard torque wrenches are right around $250ish.

One of the techs at work bout a torque for 800 bucks *has all these crazy gagets u wanna a scan of the reciept, *TimoneX -WHY THE HELL WOULD I LIE TO THE KID? I could careless what he buys
Take it easy slick. I didn't suggest you were lying, I was merely suggesting that he doesn't need to spend $500-$1000 to get a brand new snap-on torque wrench. You probably saw a receipt for a torque wrench bought from a snap-on rep at a shop. I know exactly what they look like cuz I've bought from several of them and they're more expensive to buy from.
