Default SMOG EXEMPTION!

Ok I came across some posts on this site searching about smog exemption in California, and I noticed that I've seen 3 or 4 cars for sale that say they have Smog Exemption for life. I think there were like 3 different civics and one Integra.

First of all how is this possible, and what needs to be done to get this done. I have a 95 Integra GSR, and it sucks be cause I have such a good base to start with but smog laws keep me pretty restricted.

Before this car I had a ITR internal-b18c1 powered Civic hatchback. It took me 8 times before I finally passed at the smog ref. Yeah it sucked. I love Hondas but I can't do what I want because of the retarded smog laws.

So once again I know theres some people out there that know the steps to get smog exemption for life. How do I do this? How much does it cost? Please help me out. I would PM a couple of the people I think know how but the site won't let because I'm a new memeber. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

It's not even close to being a "secret" or "hush hush." It's a legal loophole and there's a member on here (haw8st or something) who's always soliciting that service. But I assure you it will cost more than your car is worth.

Just get used to swapping in a stock motor like everyone else when you need to pass.

I would also like to add if it were that simple with out consequence then everyone would be doing this and not following legal or illegal channels?

I am aware of the legal b/s loopholes that allow you to do this and then I am also aware of the measures people take to make this “loop hole” to there advantage and it is still fraud anyway you look at it and I am sure eventually this will catch up with people that is the end user and naturally the legal people tendering this advice will have no legal obligations despite there perversion of the law to there advantage to make money!

I really think people just need to accept the fact that “smog” is nothing more then the bureaucrats way of sucking more money out of the consumer/public and while the idea may seem appealing right now eventually like all good things it will come to an end the goverment is not stupid and will be interesting to see how the state prosecutes people for this the state just like the IRS lets people have there fun for a while and when they have had enough they start there witch hunt!

No way, I already asked him about it. The cost was a few thousand dollars and it involved a lot of work. When all was said and done, you ended up with Arizona and California plates. Non-California cars are CARB exempt.

The other service he does is convert your car to run on Natural Gas. Once the ref checks it, the car is exempt forever. Then you can switch back to gasoline power, but you'll just have to pray that you don't get pulled over and get an under-hood inspection.

you file your taxes though the IRS people still cheat on the loopholes and such however once again the government always gets the last laugh on way or another!

i could go on and on with examples but at the end of the day you either get what im saying or you don't either way you have been warned!

So how much does it costs to convert to natural gas, and then back to gasoline?
